Amazon Competitor Analysis and Strategy Sessions for Supplement Brands
Not every brand needs someone running the account. Some need a second set of eyes from a specialist who has seen hundreds of supplement listings win and lose, and a plan they can execute themselves. That is what this is: focused, hourly work on the questions that decide whether your product can win its category.
Who this is for
- Founders who run their own Amazon account and want a specialist's read before a launch or a big spend
- Brands deciding whether to enter a category, or whether to keep fighting in one
- Sellers who already have an agency and want an independent audit of what they are being told
- Teams that need a written plan more than they need ongoing management
What a competitor teardown actually covers
I start with the top ten listings for your main keyword and work through them the way a shopper does, at thumbnail scale on a phone. Which images win the click, what the titles promise in the first 75 characters, where the prices cluster, what the reviews complain about, and which claims are being made that will not survive Amazon's supplement policy. Then I look at what the shopper cannot see: which keywords each competitor ranks for, where they advertise, and which search terms nobody owns yet.
The output is not a spreadsheet dump. It is a short document that says where you can win, where you cannot, and what it would cost to find out.
Keyword and pricing position
Search Query Performance data shows which queries drive purchases in your category and what share of them each brand captures. I map your listing against that, identify the exact-match terms worth a launch budget, and flag the ones where a bigger competitor's review count makes the fight unwinnable for now.
Pricing gets the same treatment. On Amazon, price relative to the category median decides your conversion rate before a single word of copy is read. I show you where you sit, what a move would do to margin after fees, and whether a multipack or a size change gets you a better position than a discount.
How the hourly model works
Consulting is billed at $100 per hour in blocks you approve in advance. A competitor teardown for one product is typically three to five hours. A pre-launch strategy session with a written plan is usually four to six. If a question turns out to need ongoing work, I will tell you, and you can decide whether a monthly engagement makes sense. The first conversation is free either way.
How it works
- 1
Free call
Thirty minutes. You describe the product and the question; I tell you whether hourly work is the right fit and estimate the hours.
- 2
Access and data
Read-only Seller Central and Ads access, or you export the reports I list. I pull SQP, search term, and business reports for the period we agree on.
- 3
Analysis
The teardown, keyword map, and pricing position, done by me personally within the block of hours you approved.
- 4
Written plan and walkthrough
A document with findings and a prioritized action list, plus a call to walk through it and answer questions. You execute, or I quote the execution separately.

Questions
Is this the same as a full account audit?
No. A full audit covers your campaigns, listings, inventory and account health end to end and is the first step of a managed engagement. This is narrower and faster: one product or one category, one decision, one written plan.
Can you look at a category I am not in yet?
Yes. Pre-entry analysis is one of the most common uses. I can tell you what it would take to rank, what the price ceiling looks like, and whether the compliance risk in that category is worth it, before you order inventory.
Do I need to give you account access?
For a pre-entry analysis, no. For an existing product, read-only access to Seller Central and the Ads console lets me pull Search Query Performance and search term reports myself, which is faster and more accurate than working from exports.
What if I want you to execute the plan?
Then we talk about a listing optimization project or a monthly PPC or account management engagement. The hours you already paid for are not wasted; the plan becomes the first month's roadmap.
